Join us to learn how to interpret and utilize nautical charts. Getting around on the water is easier if marine charts are used to plan routes, locate destinations, and identify safe areas to motor or sail. An introduction to chart colors, numbers, symbols, and navigation aids will be discussed. A short exercise will demonstrate the use of charts by identifying symbols and characteristics of navigation aids. Once introduced to the chart, the use of parallel rules will be demonstrated so that directions to waypoints can be determined.
